Check these three things with IT before you buy — the refund window closes once your
signed key is issued.
Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit). BIMMER installs just for you, with no admin rights
and no UAC prompt. Everything it needs is bundled: nothing is downloaded on first run.
Node.js is the one prerequisite. If the PC hasn't got it, the first launch offers
to install it and Windows asks permission once — which a standard user on a locked-down
machine can't approve. Ask IT to install it first (free, from nodejs.org) and BIMMER then
runs with no prompts at all.
Windows shows one warning, and that's expected. BIMMER isn't code-signed yet, so
the installer raises “Windows protected your PC”: click More info → Run
anyway, once. Code signing is in progress. Estates running Smart App
Control, or policy that removes “Run anyway”, will block it —
talk
to us before buying.
Running cost: the BIMMER licence is one-time — no subscription, no credits, no
per-conversion charge from us. Conversions run on your own free Autodesk account
(guided setup in the app), whose free allowance covers roughly 200–280 conversions a
month; beyond that Autodesk bills your account directly at their published rates, and we
