  1. Export ACIS 7.0 or 4.0

    Use text SAT, Solid output and mm units. These are BIMMER’s supported export versions.

    SolidWorks: Tools → Options → Export → ACIS.

  2. Check the light-source selection

    Use accurate part names, e.g. Lens, Optic, COB, LED, Lamp or Glass. Names help BIMMER detect the light source. Label holders as holders, and mounting parts Canopy, Mounting foot or Backplate. Check BIMMER’s selection before Generate.

  3. Keep the detail you need

    Keep the optical parts, housing and mounting parts. If the file is too heavy, remove unnecessary manufacturing detail such as internal wiring and tiny fasteners.

  4. Keep bodies separate

    Leave “write multi body part into a single ACIS body” unticked. Separate emitting bodies help source review. Revit may still merge touching housing parts.

  5. Assembly export problems? Try a part

    Assemblies can work directly. If an export loses bodies or useful part names, save a copy as a part with separate bodies, then export SAT.

    SolidWorks: Save As → Part → All components.

Export settings. ACIS 7.0 or 4.0, Solid, millimetres; keep the single-body box unticked.
Name each light-source part Lens, Glass, Optic, LED, COB or Lamp to help BIMMER detect it. You can move these parts near the top of the model tree to make them easier to check. Keep each head’s parts separate.
